Armed Robbery Suspect Arrested; Linked to several crimes across Columbia & Richland County

Columbia Police Chief Skip Holbrook announces that bond has been denied for a suspect accused of committing a series of armed robberies at local gas stations and discount stores in the City of Columbia and Richland County.

Chico Jermaine Bell (DOB: 5-10-1973) is charged with Two Counts of Armed Robbery and Possession of a Weapon during the Commission of a Violent Crime by CPD Investigators.

Bell is currently housed at the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center (ASGDC).

He’s accused of stealing money from the Family Dollar store located at 3032 Farrow Road on December 18, 2016 and from the Exxon gas station located at 321 Greystone Boulevard on December 21, 2016.

CPD Investigators continue to determine if Bell is connected to similar armed robberies in the City of Columbia.

Bell faces charges from the Richland County Sheriff’s Department (RCSD). Please call RCSD for additional information.
