Crimestoppers: Deadly Shooting Update

Columbia Police Department investigators have identified a man wanted for questioning in connection with last night’s deadly shooting at the Colony Apartments.

Officers want to talk with DaQuan James McCoy (DOB: 2-1-1996).  It’s believed that McCoy has material information in connection with the shooting that killed a 30-year-old male victim.

According to Richland County Coroner Gary Watts, James Dexter Grant of Rembert, S.C., died from multiple gunshot wounds to the upper body. Medical staff pronounced Grant deceased at the hospital last night.

Investigators are also working to identify a second male in connection with the case.
