Traffic Advisory | Farrow Rd. from Columbia College Dr. to E. Campanella Dr.

On behalf of the City of Columbia:

The City of Columbia is notifying citizens of a traffic lane shift on Farrow Rd. outbound and inbound from Columbia College Dr. to E. Campanella Dr. Beginning the morning of Tuesday, April 17, 2018, outbound and inbound right lanes will be closed to traffic.

The City of Columbia and SCDOT is evaluating the feasibility of adding a Buffered Bike Lane along Farrow Road that will reduce the section of roadway from Columbia College drive to E. Campanella to a 3-lane section to allow for the addition of bike lanes. In an effort to evaluate the potential impacts of the proposed road modifications, the inbound and outbound right travel lanes will be closed to vehicular traffic.

The proposed buffered bike lanes are one of four catalyst projects recommended in the Walk Bike Columbia Plan that had extensive public input and had a final public meeting with 200± in attendance supporting the recommendations of the plan.  The Walk Bike Columbia plan is a part of the transportation element of the Comprehensive plan adopted by City Council.

This lane closure will be effective approximately one week or less or until the City receives further notice from SC Department of Transportation.

We urge citizens to anticipate delays and adhere to the traffic signs and lane modifications. These changes may affect travel times so please adjust your schedules accordingly.

Comments and questions may be directed Monday through Friday from 8:30am to 5:00pm to 803.545.3222.
