By September 4, 2018Press Releases

The Columbia Police Department (CPD) has charged a female driver after crashing into an occupied home yesterday.

The collision happened shortly after 12:30 p.m. at 2106 Slighs Avenue near Colonial Drive and Harden Street when a 2004 Nissan Maxima struck and partially entered an apartment.

During the investigation, it was determined that the driver, Wilma Hugee (51-years-old) lost control of the vehicle, veered off the side of the road and struck the building. Speed was a contributing factor of the collision.

A resident was inside at the time of impact and was taken to a local hospital as a precaution.

Hugee was charged with and given a written citation for: Driving Too Fast for Conditions and Driving Without A License.

All persons arrested/charged are presumed innocent until or unless proven guilty in a court of law.
