Assisting Columbia's Elderly

MISSION
The mission of the Assisting Columbia’s Elderly (A.C.E.) is to serve as an advocate for the senior citizen population. To plan, research, monitor and coordinate direct and indirect services and activities in order to promote lifelong dignity and independence.

A.C.E. Services (provided by request at no charge)

  • Frequent Call Check
    Designated to provide regular phone calls to Senior Citizens who live alone.
  • Wandering Adult Service
    Identifies any potential adult wanderer, in order to assist in locating and returning them safely to their home.
  • Crime Prevention Tips
    Designated to ensure that senior citizens’ homes are safe and secure. CPD’s Crime Prevention Team will conduct home security checks.
  • Fan the Heat
    Implemented by CPD in 1995, this program was designed to provide fans and/or air conditioning units to eligible seniors and other citizens during the spring and summer months.
