Columbia Police Department (CPD) investigators have charged a 36-year-old man with two separate crimes from last year.
Gary A. Taylor is charged with Attempted Murder, Armed Robbery, Possession of a Weapon during a Violent Crime, Distribution of Cocaine, and Distribution of Cocaine in Proximity of a School.
In the first incident on July 22, 2024, Taylor allegedly sold cocaine while at the 2000 block of Park Street which is near Logan Elementary.
The second incident occurred on August 26, 2024, at the 1300 block of Richland Street. Taylor is accused of stabbing a female victim after a disagreement and stealing her cash.
Taylor was booked at the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center (ASGDC).
All persons arrested/charged are presumed innocent until or unless proven guilty in a court of law.
