Surveillance Pictures of Person of Interest from Gervais St. Shooting Released

Columbia Police Department (CPD) Investigators are releasing surveillance pictures in connection with last week’s shooting at a Gervais Street business.

Please pay close attention to the person of interest’s clothing —  a blue face mask, shoes, and backpack, which he carried backward on his chest. The man was last seen walking in the area of Gervais Street between Pickens and Barnwell Streets shortly after the crime. Investigators want to talk with him to determine if he has any information to aid the case.

The victim was leaving his office shortly before 7:00 p.m. when he was shot at the 1700 block of Gervais Street on Friday, December 13, 2024. At last check, the victim was in stable condition.

CPD investigators are working to determine the motive for the shooting.
