Update: Arrest Made in Harden Street Shooting Investigation

Columbia Police Department (CPD) investigators have arrested a 19-year-old male in connection with this weekend’s shooting on Harden Street.

Rodriguez Kenatvious Marshall (DOB: May 1999) is currently housed at the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center (ASGDC) and charged with Attempted Murder, Unlawful Carrying of a Pistol, and Possession of a Weapon during the Commission of a Violent Crime.

Marshall turned himself in to CPD investigators at Headquarters this evening.

The initial investigation indicates that on Saturday, October 6, 2018 at approximately 2:00 a.m., a group of males were trying to enter the Thirsty Parrot located at 734 Harden Street when they were approached by bar employees.

While the victim, a Thirsty Parrot employee and an unknown male were engaged in a physical altercation in the front doorway, Marshall who was in the crowd, allegedly pulled out a firearm and shot once, striking the victim in the arm.

Since the incident, the victim has been treated and released from a local hospital.

CPD officers were patrolling the area and heard the gunshot and ran to investigate. They noticed a large crowd gathered at the location and found the victim in the front of the building.

CPD Investigators continue to review surveillance video to identify other individuals who may have pertinent information regarding the investigation.
