Four Arrests Made in Armed Robbery Investigation

Police Chief Skip Holbrook announces the arrests of four people in connection with an armed robbery investigation.

Deonte Benjamin (DOB: 1-6-1998) is charged with Armed Robbery, Unlawful Carrying of a Pistol, Criminal Conspiracy, and Possession of a Stolen Pistol.

On December 29, 2015, CPD’s Fugitive Team, SLED and Lexington County Sheriff’s deputies attempted to serve arrest warrants at a Lexington home. After indicating that Benjamin was not inside, a relative brought him to CPD HQ and was turned over the Investigators.

Mary McMarva (DOB: 4-20-1983) and Erika Dickerson (DOB: 10-9-1993) are charged with Accessory After the Fact of a Felony and Criminal Conspiracy.

A 15-year-old male is charged with Possession of a Firearm by Person under the Age of 18, Possession of a Weapon during the Commission of a Violent Crime, and Unlawful Carrying of a Pistol.

Also last month, the CPD Fugitive Team located McMarva, Dickerson and the juvenile at the Super 8 Hotel located at 5321 Forest Drive.

The charges stem from an armed robbery that occurred on December 26, 2015 at 5420 Forest Drive.

A male was robbed at gunpoint of his wallet and cell phone while he was trying to get into his car. The victim was not physically harmed during the crime.

All persons arrested/charged are presumed innocent until or unless proven guilty in a court of law.
