Columbia Police Chief Skip Holbrook announces that two people have been arrested in connection with a methamphetamine investigation.

John Allen Hancock IV (DOB: 11-23-1974) is charged with Manufacturing Methamphetamine and Improper Disposal of Methamphetamine Waste.

Katharine Kanna Hancock (DOB: 10-30-1981) is charged with Manufacturing Methamphetamine, Improper Disposal of Methamphetamine Waste, Unlawful Possession of a Schedule IV Controlled Substance (Xanax) and Simple Possession of Marijuana.

The suspects turned themselves in to CPD Investigators this morning.
Earlier this month, members of CPD’s Organized Crime and Narcotics (OCN) Unit in partnership with the

SC Law Enforcement Division (SLED) executed a lawful search warrant at 4318 Woodside Haven Drive.

Officers found a used, one-pot meth cooking vessel, a hydrogen chloride gas generator, along with two large toolboxes containing precursors needed to manufacture meth. A small amount of marijuana and several Schedule III pills were also located.

There were no injuries or exposures during the lawful search of the home.

SLED chemists confiscated several items to be processed as evidence. A meth clean up team was also on scene to assist with the case.

Both suspects were transported to the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center (ASGDC).

All persons arrested/charged are presumed innocent until or unless proven guilty in a court of law.
