Attempted Murder Investigation

Columbia Police Chief Skip Holbrook announces that Investigators are piecing together the motive behind a shooting at a local apartment complex.

The incident occurred before 9:00 p.m. on April 8, 2016 at Hammond Village Apartments located at 921 Marlboro Street in North Columbia.

The male victim was standing outside at the same time occupants inside two vehicles, described by witnesses as a white Chevy Impala and a burgundy/red Chevy Avalanche fired shots at him.

The 29-year-old victim continues to receive treatment for his life-threatening wound to the upper body.

Investigators have collected evidence from the crime scene, and are currently following leads, including working with other law enforcement partners on the case.
