Man Charged in Stabbing Death Investigation

Columbia Police Chief Skip Holbrook announces that a man has been arrested in connection with a stabbing death investigation.

Benjamin Jerome Goodwin (DOB: 3-2-1975) is charged with Murder, Attempted Murder and Possession of a Weapon during the Commission of a Violent Crime.

Goodwin is accused of arguing with two men at a home located on the 100 block of Hillcrest Drive last night, then stabbing them multiple times. One man managed to run and escape to a neighbor’s house. The victim continues to receive medical treatment at a local hospital. EMS arrived on scene and pronounced the other victim deceased.

Officers found the suspect Goodwin at the home and arrested him. Goodwin was transported to the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center (ASGDC).
