Man Accused of Possessing Stolen Pistol Recovery Made Near Hyatt Park

North Region Officers have arrested a man accused of illegally possessing a stolen gun, drugs and resisting arrest.

Timothy Rashad Adams (DOB: 7-21-1991) is charged with Unlawful Carrying of a Pistol, Possession of a Stolen Pistol, Simple Possession of Marijuana, Failure to Stop on Police Command, and Consumption of Alcohol in Public. Officers made the arrest shortly before 2:00 p.m. on June 13, 2016 near 950 Jackson Avenue.

Community members in the Hyatt Park/Keenan Terrace neighborhoods have voiced concerns to CPD about vagrant activity and illegal drinking at Hyatt Park. In response to the concerns and while on patrol, officers saw several males and females loitering at Hyatt Park.

One male, identified as Adams was allegedly drinking alcohol in public before leaving the area.
As an officer attempted to speak with him, Adams allegedly refused to stop on police command and ran from the scene. When officers caught up with Adams and during a lawful search, they found marijuana and a pistol that was reported stolen from Simpsonville, S.C.

Adams was transported to the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.

All persons arrested/charged are presumed innocent until or unless proven guilty in a court of law.
