Bond Denied for Woman Charged in Manslaughter Investigation

Columbia Police Chief Skip Holbrook announces that bond has been denied for a suspect accused of shooting and killing a female over the weekend.

Tameka Denise Randal (DOB: 4-3-1986) is charged with Voluntary Manslaughter and Possession of a Weapon during the Commission of a Violent Crime.

Randal turned herself in to CPD Investigators and was formally charged on Sunday, June, 26, 2016. Randal was previously named as a person of interest in the case.

Investigators believe Randal and the female victim, identified by the Richland County Coroner’s Office as Marvetta Rowe, were handling a firearm inside a Lorick Circle apartment when Randal allegedly shot Rowe in the upper body.

The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene on Saturday, June 25, 2016.

Randal is currently housed at the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.

All persons arrested/charged are presumed innocent until or unless proven guilty in a court of law.
