South Region officers seized a stolen handgun and more than 130 Xanax pills during a traffic stop earlier this week.
As a result, Reaqwon Mailk Garrick (DOB: 10-4-1997) has been arrested and charged with Possession of a Stolen Pistol and Possession with Intent to Distribute Schedule IV Drug ( Xanax).
Officers talked with Garrick at 4467 Devine Street shortly after midnight on February 16, 2017 and smelled marijuana coming from the suspect and his vehicle.
During a search of the car, officers found two pistols, one of which was confirmed through the National Crime Information Center (NCIC) database as being stolen from the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department’s jurisdiction. Officers also confiscated 135 white pills that were confirmed as Xanax.
Garrick was taken to the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center (ASGDC). He is currently out of jail on a $30,000 surety bond that was set in General Sessions court. All persons arrested/charged are presumed innocent until or unless proven guilty in a court of law.
