Crimestoppers: Harden Street Assault Suspect Identified

 

Columbia Police investigators have identified the suspect accused of assaulting a male victim outside of a Harden Street bar earlier this month.

Investigators are looking for Daniel Halsey Wells (DOB: 3-11-1988).

Once arrested, he will be charged with Assault and Battery of a High and Nature. The arrest warrant has been entered in the National Crime Information Center Database (NCIC).

Wells is accused of grabbing the victim in a choke hold rendering him unconscious, and then throwing him to the ground causing him to lose several teeth and suffer a broken jaw.

Since the assault, the victim has been released from a local hospital but is still receiving medical treatment.

Investigators received several Crimestoppers tips and have reviewed surveillance video of the crime which occurred on March 19, 2017 at 800 Harden Street.

The motive for the crime continues to be determined.
