Surveillance Pictures Released of Suspect in Stolen Vehicle Investigation

Columbia Police Investigators are releasing surveillance pictures of a male suspect accused of stealing a truck from the property of a local charitable organization.

A gray Chevy Silverado was taken yesterday around 5:00 p.m. from St. Lawrence Place located at 2400 Waites Road.

A worker was in the process of moving donated furniture to one of the apartments. When he returned, he noticed the truck was gone. He reported to the initial responding officer that the keys were still in the ignition.

The key chain also contained keys to his family’s personal vehicle, a 2014 sedan. It was stolen around 1:00 a.m. today from his Santee Avenue home. Investigators are working to determine if the crimes were committed by the same suspect or if additional suspects are involved.

The sedan was recovered in Richland County Sheriff’s Department’s jurisdiction near Bluff Estates on Bluff Road.
