Columbia Police Investigators have arrested a former human resources manager in a fraud investigation.
Teresa Yvonne Yarborough-Walker (DOB: 11-18-1967) is charged with Breach of Trust with Fraudulent Intent and First Degree Computer Crimes.
The suspect is accused of defrauding her former employer, Genesis Healthcare of more than $361,000.00 between the May 2013 and April 17. The fraud was discovered during an audit.
While working, Yarborough-Walker was entrusted with the care, keeping, and possession of payroll, software, and corresponding funds. The suspect is accused of creating fictitious employee profiles, issuing paychecks to fictitious employees, and converting the paychecks for her own use. Yarborough-Walker is further accused of depositing the money in two bank accounts.
Yarborough-Walker was released from the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center on a $75,000 surety bond.
All persons arrested/charged are presumed innocent until or unless proven guilty in a court of law.
