Columbia Police Department Partners with Columbia Fireflies to Fan the Heat

The annual Fan the Heat program sponsored by the Columbia Police Department has expanded their drop off location to include the Spirit Communications Park during home games for the Columbia Fireflies.

Citizens can drop off their donations for Fan the Heat and receive a $1 discount off tickets at the ball park on the following dates:

  • Sunday, June 25
  • Wednesday, July 12
  • Sunday, July 30
  • Wednesday, August 9
  • Tuesday, August 29

The Fan the Heat program is primarily designed for senior citizens, however, exceptions apply for residents with medical concerns/disabilities and families with young children. CPD will be collecting fans, air conditioning units and financial contributions for worthy citizens from now until Thursday, August 31, 2017.

Donations can be dropped off at the following locations:

  • Headquarters – 1 Justice Square, Columbia, SC 29201
  • Spirit Communications Park, 1640 Freed Road, Columbia, SC 29201 (see dates above)
  • East Region – 446 Spears Creek Church Road, Elgin, SC 29045
  • Metro Region – 1600 Bull Street, Columbia, SC 29201
  • North Region – 3905 Ensor Avenue, Columbia, SC 29203
  • South Region – 2132 Devine Street, Columbia, SC 29205
  • West Region – 690 Club Road, Columbia, SC 29212

Citizens that need assistance from the Fan the Heat program are asked to call the Crime Prevention Unit at 545-3555 or the Telephone Response Unit at 545-3500.
