Second Arrest Made in Downtown Vandalism Investigation

Columbia Police officers have made a second arrest in connection with a series of vandalism incidents in the downtown area.

22-year-old Titus Bolen (DOB: 6-2-1995) is charged with Five Counts of Vandalism and Assault – Third.

Bolen and alleged accomplice, Tyler Chase-Ashton Loyd (DOB: 6-13-1997) (previously arrested) are accused of of throwing rocks at vehicles and buildings at the following locations on August 22, 2017:

  •  822 Gervais Street  (Hampton Inn) – window damage: $3,000
  • 2000 Harden Street –  Comet bus window damage: $500
  • 1301 Gervais Street (Colliers International)– window damage: $40,000
  • 300 Blossom Street – vehicle windshield: $500
  • 1200 Main Street –  (ABC Columbia) window panel: $2,000
  • 1201 Main Street – (Capitol Center) glass door: $2,500

Aside from damaging property, Bolen is also accused of throwing a drink bottle at a female victim, striking her in the chest while she walked along the 300 block of Blossom Street on the same day. The victim was not seriously injured.

All persons arrested/charged are presumed innocent until or unless proven guilty in a court of law.
