By November 8, 2017Press Releases

Columbia Police Department (CPD) officers have arrested a man accused of stealing thousands of dollars worth of lawn care equipment from a South Columbia home.

A judge denied bond today on the Burglary – First Degree charge for Frank Johnson (DOB: 10-20-1965). Johnson is also charged with Larceny in connection with a crime that occurred at a home on Deerwood Street on October 20, 2017.

Johnson was captured on surveillance video on the homeowner’s property shortly after 3:00 a.m. It’s believed that he used a crawl space to gain access inside of the property to steal expensive lawn care tools.

CPD officers recovered some of the stolen items.

Johnson was also previously charged by CPD Property Crimes investigators with Financial Transaction Card Theft and Fraud after allegedly stealing credit cards during car break-ins on South Beltline Boulevard last month.

Johnson is housed at the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center (ASGDC).

All persons arrested/charged are presumed innocent until or unless proven guilty in a court of law.
