Columbia Police Department (CPD) officers are now investigating a deadly vehicle collision as a homicide investigation.
The incident occurred on November 21, 2017, at the 5600 block of Farrow Road near Bendale Drive where a vehicle occupied by unknown suspects fired gun shots towards a vehicle which was occupied by four victims.
While the victims were driving away in an attempt to get away from the gunfire, the driver lost control of the vehicle and crashed, resulting in the death of a 17-year-old passenger.
Richland County Coroner Gary Watts has previously identified the deceased victim as 17-year-old Cameron Scott.
The suspect vehicle is described as a smaller dark-colored pickup truck. The suspect vehicle drove away from the scene after the shots were fired.
