Update | Arrest Made in Hotel Armed Robbery and Stabbing Investigation

Columbia Police Investigators have arrested a man accused of stabbing a friend at a hotel earlier this week.

44-year-old Billy Dowd (DOB: 8-20-1973) was located in Lexington County this afternoon, taken to CPD Headquarters and charged with Attempted MurderArmed RobberyKidnapping and Possession of a Weapon during a Violent Crime.

Dowd is accused of stabbing the male victim the upper body on December 4, 2017 at 230 Greystone Boulevard during an armed robbery. The victim’s injuries were not life-threatening.

Dowd will be booked at the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center (ASGDC).

All persons arrested/charged are presumed innocent until or unless proven guilty in a court of law.
