Two Arrested in Attempted Murder Investigation

Columbia Police Department (CPD) investigators have charged two people in connection with a shooting that occurred between two vehicles last weekend.

Keon Tucker (DOB: 2-5-1996) is charged with Six Counts of Attempted Murder and Possession of a Weapon during a Violent Crime.

Monique Young (DOB: 7-22-1998) is charged with Misprison of a Felony (neglect in reporting a crime) and False Swearing before Persons Authorized to Administer Oaths.

Tucker is accused of discharging several rounds at a victim’s vehicle (with five passengers) along the 1700 block of Sunset Drive on January 8, 2018. It’s believed that one of the victims then returned fire.

One of the bullets from Tucker’s act hit the front windshield of a transit bus which was behind the victims’ vehicle.

Thankfully, no one was physically injured during the incident.

Suspect Young is accused of lying to CPD investigators about her knowledge of the incident and provided a sworn statement attesting to the same.

After the suspects’ were arrested, they were housed at the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center (ASGDC).

All persons arrested/charged are presumed innocent until or unless proven guilty in a court of law.
