Columbia Police Department (CPD) Investigators have arrested two suspects accused of assaulting a 
man during an attempted robbery.
Emmanuel Roberts (DOB: 4-11-1988) and Taurus Ceasar (DOB: 4-23-1999) are charged with Assault and Battery – First Degree and Attempted Strong Arm Robbery.
Roberts was arrested yesterday while Ceasar was arrested today. A judge has set Roberts’ surety bond at $50,000.
The duo is accused of repeatedly assaulting the male victim in the face and body while at 1700 Sumter Street on January 16, 2018. The victim did not suffer from life-threatening injuries.
It’s believed the suspects were trying to steal money from the victim. Both suspects and the victim do not have permanent addresses.
All persons arrested/charged are presumed innocent until or unless proven guilty in a court of law.
