Life-threatening Hit and Run Incident Involving a Moped

By February 9, 2018Press Releases

Officers with the Columbia Police Department’s (CPD) Traffic Safety Unit (TSU) are investigating a life-threatening hit and run incident involving a moped.

Two passengers (54-year-old male and 58-year-old female) were hit from behind by a vehicle, possibly a dark GMC Yukon shortly after 5:30 p.m. yesterday at the 3400 block of Two Notch Road.

The suspect driver and/or passengers did not stop or render aid to the victims.

After the initial collision, which caused both victims to be ejected from the moped, another vehicle, possibly a silver older model Oldsmobile ran over the female, causing life-threatening injuries and left the scene. This vehicle may be missing front hubcaps.

The male victim was not seriously injured.
