By February 18, 2018Press Releases

Officers with the Columbia Police Department’s (CPD) Traffic Safety unit (TSU) have arrested a female accused of injuring three males during a hit and run incident last night.

As a result, Adriane Theresa Kempinski is at the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center (ASGDC) charged with Hit and Run Involving Great Bodily Injury, Two Counts of Hit and Run Involving Minor Injury, Three Counts of Failing to Render Aid, Driving Too Fast for Conditions, and No Driver’s License.

One of the victims is still suffering from a serious leg injury. The other two victims were not seriously injured but received treatment at a local hospital.

TSU officers responded to 400 Wildwood Avenue shortly after 9:00 last night.  Kempinski is accused of hitting the victims who were on the side of the road assisting with a broken down vehicle.

Initially, one of the victim’s vehicle stalled and two other victims stopped to help him.

After the collision, Kempinski is accused of leaving the scene. She later turned herself in to CPD officers at 12:30 this morning.

CPD officers found the vehicle Kempinski was driving and will process it for potential evidence.

All persons arrested/charged are presumed innocent until or unless proven guilty in a court of law.
