Crimestoppers: Shooting Investigation | Ripplemeyer Avenue

Columbia Police Department (CPD) investigators are releasing surveillance pictures of a vehicle wanted in connection with a weekend shooting that injured a female.

The incident occurred shortly after 1:00 p.m. on March 3, 2018 at North Pointe Estates located at 100 Ripplemeyer Avenue.

As a result, a 25-year-old female was struck in the upper body by a stray bullet. The victim has since been treated and released from a local hospital for her non-life threatening injury.

The initial investigation indicates that a male and female were arguing outside of the apartment building before the shooting happened. It is not believed that the victim has any association with the couple.

The suspect, believed to be male was seen shooting from inside a light-colored Kia Rio (possibly a 2003-2005 model) with missing hubcaps on the passenger’s side and stock hubcaps on the driver’s side.

There is also a breast cancer awareness sticker on the rear trunk of the passenger’s side;

Plus, a visible dent on the vehicle’s rear quarter panel.

 

 

 

 

At this time, investigators suspect that at least two children were inside of the car at the time of the shooting.

There are no reports of additional injuries from the incident.
