Investigators with the Columbia Police Department’s (CPD) Property Crimes Unit are investigating the theft of a tractor trailer that was storing several expensive vehicles.
The theft happened on June 10, 2018 at the Flying J gas station located at 5901 Fairfield Road.
The Peterbilt tractor trailer contained several BMW sport utility vehicles that were being transported from Greenville, S.C. to Fresh Meadows, N.Y.
Four of the seven vehicles were stolen, with one being found in Lantana, Florida. The male in the surveillance picture was reportedly in possession of the vehicle. CPD is working to identify and locate the him.
The trailer was recovered in Dorchester County by deputies with the Dorchester County Sheriff’s Department on the same day as the initial theft.
CPD continues to look for the following stolen vehicles:
A white 2018 Mineralweiss BMW – X5
A white 2018 Alpineweiss III BMW – X5
A silver 2018 Glacierssilber Metallic BMW – X3
