Update: North Main Shooting Investigation

Columbia Police Department (CPD) investigators have arrested a 20-year-old male in connection with a shooting investigation that occurred in North Columbia last night.

Officers were dispatched to 6012 North Main Street (Beauty World) shortly after 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 28, 2018.

According to several witnesses,  a group of males were arguing in the parking lot of the business before the shooting occurred. One male was shot in the foot and was found at a local hospital.

The injured male is also a suspect in connection with the case — Rodney Starling Holmes (DOB: 9-20-1997) is charged with Felon in Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Carrying of a Pistol, and Breach of Peace of a High and Aggravated Nature.

After being released from a local hospital, Holmes was transported to the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center (ASGDC).

All persons arrested/charged are presumed innocent until or unless proven guilty in a court of law.

Evidence was collected from the scene. Officers continue to investigate the incident and determine the identities of the additional people involved.
