Crimestoppers | Motorcyclist Injured in Weekend Hit & Run Incident

The Columbia Police Department’s Traffic Safety Unit (TSU) is investigating a weekend hit and run incident involving a motorcyclist.

The collision occurred shortly after 10:30 p.m. on July 7, 2018 at the 3800 block of West Beltline Boulevard.

The initial investigation indicates that the 46-year-old male victim was traveling westbound on West Beltline Boulevard when he made contact with another vehicle, possibly a burgundy sedan with a broken back window.

The collision caused the motorcycle rider to slide sideways across the roadway before resting at a curb. At last check, medical staff advised that the victim was in critical but stable condition at a local hospital. It is not believed that the victim was wearing a helmet at the time of the collision.

TSU officers continue to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
