Columbia Police Department’s (CPD) North Region officers have charged three teenagers in connection with an unlawful weapons investigation.
Two juvenile males (13 and 14-years-old) are charged with Possession of a Firearm by Person under the Age of 21, and 17-year-old Tyrek Kennedy (DOB: 8-16-2000) is charged with Breach of Peace. Officers were dispatched to the 650
0 block of Easter Street shortly after midnight on July 12, 2018 after several citizens called 9-1-1 to report hearing shots being fired in the area.
When officers arrived they located the teens and after a lawful search, seized guns (Ruger .380 and an Accu-tek .380) on two of the teens.
The teens were transported to the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center (ASGDC). All persons arrested/charged are presumed innocent until or unless proven guilty in a court of law.
