Crimestoppers | Auto-Breaking Suspect Identified

Columbia Police Department’s Property Crimes investigators have identified a male suspect accused of breaking into a car and stealing credit cards.

The same suspect is also wanted in connection with using another victim’s credit card and racking up fraudulent purchases.

CPD has several pending arrest warrants for Jeffrey Stephen Saxby (DOB: 2-18-1980) for Auto-Breaking, Larceny, Financial Transaction Card Theft, Financial Transaction Card Fraud, and Financial Identity Fraud.

On July 4, 2018, Saxby allegedly entered an unlocked truck that was parked at at 100 Columbiana Circle (Columbiana Mall) and stealing the victim’s wallet and several credit cards.

At that time, it’s believed that Saxby was driving a 2000-2005 burgundy Chevy Impala with South Carolina license plate: I-J-F 795 that was reported stolen out of Richland County.

Then on July 19, Saxby is further accused of using another stolen credit card from a different victim and making fraudulent purchases while at 7520 Garners Ferry Road (Wal-Mart).
