Columbia Police Department (CPD) officers are investigating the suspicious death from Koon Road earlier this week as a homicide case.
According to an autopsy conducted by the Richland County Coroner’s Office, the female victim identified as Brenda Victoria Jackson died from a gunshot wound to the head.

Jackson’s body was found by citizens outside at the 5800 block of Koon Road on Tuesday, August 7, 2018.
During the course of the investigation, officers have learned that Jackson was seen walking in the area moments before a citizen reported hearing gunfire.
