The Columbia Police Department’s (CPD) Traffic Safety Unit is investigating a collision involving a vehicle and pedestrian.

The incident occurred shortly before 7:30 last night at the 1100 block of Columbia College Drive.

The initial investigation indicates that a 54-year-old female pedestrian was walking southbound across Columbia College Drive near the intersection of Dale Drive.

The pedestrian was wearing dark colored clothing when the vehicle, a 2017 Kia Sorrento was traveling eastbound along the same roadway when it struck her.  At this time, it’s believed that the pedestrian was unlawfully in the roadway and under the influence of alcohol.
