The Columbia Police Department’s (CPD) Traffic Safety Unit (TSU) continues to investigate a fatal collision involving a pedestrian and vehicle in North Columbia.
A 49-year-old female suffered fatal injuries as she walked along the 3500 block of Farrow Road shortly before 8:00 p.m. yesterday. It’s believed that she was unlawfully in the roadway at the time of impact with a 2008 Saturn Aura.
The male driver stayed on scene after the incident while the female passenger called 9-1-1.
EMS took the pedestrian to the hospital where she was pronounced deceased a short time later.
