Update: Collision at Taylor and Oak Streets

The Columbia Police Department’s (CPD) Traffic Safety Unit (TSU) has cited a man for causing a three car collision this morning.

The incident happened at the 2200 block of Taylor Street (at Oak Street) shortly after 11:00 a.m.

Preliminary investigation reveals that the driver of a 2009 Dodge Ram crossed the center line at a high rate of speed and struck a 1989 Buick Reatta head on, causing it to roll over and come to rest against a parked vehicle.

The driver of the Dodge was cited for reckless driving and was not seriously injured. The driver of the Buick sustained broken bones.

All persons arrested/charged are presumed innocent until or unless proven guilty in a court of law.
