Crimestoppers: ShotSpotter Shooting Investigation (No Reported Injuries)

Columbia Police Chief W.H. ‘Skip’ Holbrook is releasing surveillance video of an active shooting incident from the intersection of King and Bratton Streets in an effort to identify the persons responsible.

The shooting occurred at 2:30 a.m. on May 11, 2019 at 1133 King Street. Initially, CPD officers responded to the location after receiving a ShotSpotter notification.

The video shows one vehicle approach King Street while a suspect hangs out of the passenger side window and shoots toward a home and other property. Then, a second car with a passenger in the backseat, repeats the criminal act. An unidentified male is seen running after the vehicles, shooting another firearm.

There were no reports of any injuries, however bullets partially damaged vehicle windows and homes.

Officers collected valuable evidence at the scene.
