Arrest Made in Forest Drive Murder Investigation

Columbia Police Chief W.H. ‘Skip’ Holbrook announces the arrest of a 48-year-old man in connection with an April murder investigation from Forest Drive.

This afternoon, Conrad Anderson (DOB: 5-3-1971) was located by members of the CPD Fugitive Team and the United States Marshals Service Fugitive Task Force on Cedar Terrace Street.

Anderson is charged with Murder and will be taken to the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center (ASGDC). The charge stems from the death of a man on April 5, 2019 at the 5400 block of Forest Drive, outside of the San Jose Mexican Restaurant.

According to Richland County Coroner Gary Watts, the victim, Charles Crane died as a result of blunt force trauma. CPD Investigators believe that the suspect and victim were acquaintances and argued moments before the deadly incident.

All persons arrested/charged are presumed innocent until or unless proven guilty in a court of law.
