Crimestoppers: Burglary Suspect Wanted

Columbia Police Department (CPD) Property Crimes investigators have outstanding arrest warrants for a man wanted in connection with a burglary investigation.

56-year-old Jackie Lee Evans is accused of breaking into a home at the 1600 block of Hollywood Drive at approximately 2:00 a.m. on October 20, 2019 and stealing miscellaneous electronics.

While allegedly committing the crime, Evans pepper sprayed the victim in his face when he came home and discovered the burglar inside.  Afterwards, Evans ran from the scene.

Once arrested, Evans will be charged with Burglary – First Degree, Assault – First Degree and Grand Larceny. The arrest warrants have been entered into the National Crime Information Center (NCIC) database.

It’s believed that Evans is a possible suspect in connection with similar crimes in South Columbia.
