Crimestoppers: Hit and Run Involving a Pedestrian

The Columbia Police Department’s (CPD) Traffic Safety Unit (TSU) officers are encouraging citizens to call Crimestoppers with information regarding a hit and run investigation involving a pedestrian.

Officers are releasing a picture of a vehicle of interest and believe the driver and/or passenger (s) may have information to assist investigators with the case. The vehicle appears to be a white or light-colored newer model, mid-size SUV.

The incident occurred shortly before midnight on January 9, 2020 at the 3700 block of West Beltline Boulevard.

As a result, a 52-year-old man was struck by a vehicle and remains at a local hospital with serious injuries.

Preliminary information indicates that the victim was likely walking on a sidewalk when he was struck.
