Crimestoppers: Fatal Shooting Investigation (Bailey Street)

Columbia Police Department officers are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred last night in North Columbia.

According to Police Chief W. H. “Skip” Holbrook, CPD officers received a Shotspotter alert and responded to the 1000 block of Bailey Street (The Colony Apartments) at approximately 7:00 p.m. on September 11, 2020.

After circulating the area, they found the 30-year-old male victim with serious injuries outside and rendered aid until EMS arrived on scene.  Richland County Coroner Gary Watts, has identified the victim as Antonio Tyquell Demon Burkett (DOB: 9-1-2020). He was pronounced deceased at a local hospital.

Officers have collected evidence from the crime scene and are in the process of gathering additional information about the incident.
