Crimestoppers: ATM Burglary Investigation

Columbia Police Department (CPD) Investigators are releasing surveillance pictures of at least three suspects accused of damaging automated teller machines at two banks and stealing thousands of dollars in cash from one of them.

Both crimes happened on September 12, 2020; one at 4:00 a.m. at 418 Bush River Road and at 5:30 a.m. at 7231 Broad River Road.

The unknown suspects used a truck to commit their crimes. According to bank representatives the first attempt to get inside of the ATM caused an estimated $35,000 in damages. The suspects were not able to steal cash.

However, cash was stolen from the second location. During their quick getaway, the suspects left money on the ground which was later recovered by bank officials.
