Crimestoppers: Homicide Investigation

Columbia Police Department (CPD) officers are investigating the homicide of a 94-year-old female.

At approximately 3:00 p.m. on September 18, 2021, officers were dispatched to the 1700 block of Calhoun Street regarding an unaccompanied death. A relative called 9-1-1 after finding the victim deceased.  While there were no immediate signs of foul play at the scene, an autopsy conducted by the Richland County Coroner’s Office (RCCO) has determined evidence of a homicide.

Updates will be provided as soon as more releasable information becomes available.

CPD continues to work with the RCCO on the investigation.
