** Update: Suspect turned himself in to CPD investigators on 11/16/21 **

Investigators with the Columbia Police Department’s (CPD) Special Victims Unit (SVU) are searching for domestic violence suspect, 20-year-old Michael James Johnson, III.

Once located and arrested, Johnson will be charged with Domestic Violence of a High and Aggravated Nature and Kidnapping.

** Johnson should be considered armed and dangerous. **

He is accused of repeatedly physically assaulting a 21-year-old female acquaintance in a North Columbia home on November 10, 2021.  The suspect allegedly prevented her from escaping. Johnson is further accused of threatening the victim at gunpoint.

The victim sustained significant injuries to her face and body and was taken to the hospital for treatment.
