Temporary Road Closures for 68th Annual Carolina Carillon Parade

The 68th Annual Carolina Carillon Parade is set for this weekend in downtown Columbia. As as result, Columbia Police Department officers will temporarily close several roads for the event.

The parade which is set to start on Saturday, December 4, 2021 at 9:45 a.m. at the 1200 to 2000 blocks of Sumter Street.

* Street Closures will begin at 7:00 a.m.  and will reopen at the conclusion of the parade which will include the  completion of the clean-up process.

Street Closure Information:

  • 1100 – 1200 Sumter Street
  • 1200 Main Street
  • (Access to entrance & exit of garage = Lady Street)

7:45 a.m.

  • 1700 – 2000 Sumter Street
  • 1200-1300 Richland Street
  • 1200-1300 Calhoun Street

*Comet Bus Stop will be temporarily relocated from Sumter and Laurel Streets to the 1100 block of Calhoun Street*

9:00 a.m.

  • 1000-1100 Sumter Street
  • 1000-1100 Marion Street
  • 1200-1400 Pendleton Street
  • 1300-1400 Senate Street

9:15 a.m.

  • 1600-1200 Sumter Street
  • 1200-1300 Lady Street
  • 1200-1300 Hampton Street
  • 1200-1300 Taylor Street
  • 1200-1300 Blanding Street

*All garages on Sumter Street and parking lots at the following blocks will be accessed from Main Street:

  • 1200 blocks of *Lady *Washington *Hampton *Taylor *Blanding Streets

CPD officers will provide traffic control and security for the event.
