Columbia Police Department (CPD) officers have charged a 29-year-old female in connection with a fatal shooting from last year.
Daveesha Baskerville is charged with Manslaughter and Possession of a Weapon during a Violent Crime. The suspect turned herself in to CPD officers yesterday.
Baskerville is accused of arguing and fighting with a female acquaintance on August 2, 2021 at the 2200 block of Waverly Street. The victim, who was placed on life support, died from her injuries on September 26, 2021.
CPD investigators consulted with the Fifth Circuit Solicitor’s Office regarding the investigation.
All persons arrested/charged are presumed innocent until or unless proven guilty in a court of law.
