Arrest Made in Fatal Hit & Run Investigation

Officers with the Columbia Police Department (CPD) Traffic Safety Unit (TSU) have arrested a 23-year-old male in connection with the fatal hit and run of a pedestrian.

Kahlil Graham is charged with Hit and Run Resulting in Death, Failure to Render Aid, Operating Uninsured, and Driving under Suspension. Graham remains housed at the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center. A judge has set a $250,000 surety bond for the suspect.

Shortly before 11:00 p.m. on April 24, 2022, Graham is accused of driving along the 3700 block of Farrow Road and striking a male pedestrian. Approximately an hour after the incident, the victim was pronounced deceased by medical staff at a local hospital.

After striking the victim, Graham left the incident scene without calling 9-1-1 or rendering aid to the victim.

The Richland County Coroner’s Office assisted CPD with the investigation.

All persons arrested/charged are presumed innocent until or unless proven guilty in a court of law.
