Auto-Breaking Suspect Wanted in Multiple Counties Arrested

A 31-year-old male accused of committing multiple property crimes in the City of Columbia, and Richland and Lexington Counties has been arrested. CPD alone served the suspect with fourteen arrest warrants.

Members of the United States Marshal’s Service’s (USMS) Carolinas Regional Task Force which includes the Columbia Police Department (CPD) arrested 31-year-old Sarpertwo Siharath.

CPD charged Siharath with multiple counts of Auto-Breaking, Burglary – Second Degree , Grand Larceny, and Petit Larceny.

The suspect is accused of breaking into vehicles at 900 Stadium Road and, 1400 Huger Street, 506 Huger Street, and 708 Pulaski Street between April and May 2022. In all of the cases, Siharath allegedly stole thousands of dollars’ worth of the victims’ personal belongings including women’s clothing, shoes,  handbags and wallet, cash, electronics and tools.

Siharath’s co-defendant in some of the cases, 32-year-old Robert E. Page was previously arrested and charged with Burglary – Second Degree, Grand Larceny, Petit Larceny and Auto-Breaking.

A vehicle the duo allegedly stole was recovered.

After their arrests, both suspects were housed at the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.

Page was released on bond set by a judge. Sihararth remains behind bars.

All persons arrested/charged are presumed innocent until or unless proven guilty in a court of law.
