CPD Charges Three People in Five Points Narcotics Investigation

By January 19, 2023Press Releases

The Columbia Police Department’s (CPD) Organized Crime and Narcotics (OCN) Unit officers have charged three people in connection with a Five Points drug investigation.

According to Police Chief W. H. “Skip” Holbrook, 30-year-old Karry Cohen and 23-year-old Alessandra Morales were given a citation for Possession of Hemp without a License. 32-year-old Connie Jackson (store manager) was transported to the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center charged with Possession of Hemp without a License and Conspiracy to Distribute Marijuana.

The charges stem after CPD officers and SC Law Enforcement Division (SLED) agents served a search warrant at the ‘Crowntown Cannabis’ located at 610 Harden Street yesterday afternoon. During the course of the investigation, approximately 15-20 pounds of green plant-like material believed to be marijuana were seized along with THC hash oil and edible samples. All of the items will be tested in the SLED lab.  CPD consulted with the Fifth Circuit Solicitor’s Office regarding the investigation.

All persons arrested/charged are presumed innocent until or unless proven guilty in a court of law.
